Have you tried the "Cargo Dock" app? It allows cut/copy/paste I think. It doesn't seem to allow changing directory permissions. Perhaps you could contribute to this discussion: https://together.jolla.com/question/1169/update-filemanager-copy-paste-delete/
Besides that comment, I wonder if this is something that would prevent you from recommending Jolla to others? Seems like the kind of thing you wouldn't do too often. But than again, not having it can be annoying when you do need it.
